## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is maximum cutting capacity**
A: The description says 300mm2 which converts to just under 15/32 square inch or just under 1/2 inch square,  I have only used mine to cut 4/3 w ground and it cut that easily, it was probably larger than 1/2 inch square but a lot of that was insulation.  A 1/2 inch conductor is pretty big.  The jaws would accept over a square inch but you wouldn't want to tackle that much copper or aluminum. Hope this helps.  Don't try to cut anything harder.

**Q: Will it cut 1/4" ss cable?**
A: I've never cut stainless cable with it.

**Q: Are they safe to use on live wires**
A: I would not use them on live wires myself.  They are made of metal and the only insulation is the grips. They are not specifically rated for use on live power.  Any wire large enough to need cutters like these would most likely carry enough power to be lethal, so I would spend the extra money and get a proper tool.

**Q: will it cut 4/0 AWT wire?**
A: will it cut 4/0 copper or aliminium
