Once I figured out what cable to use it was very easy to flash these and so far they have worked perfectly, so great value for the money. In settings in Arduino/Esphome I set them to WeMos D1 & D1 Mini as they have the same pinout as the D1 Mini it seems. They have a built-in LED you can use as well. They work great for a pi-hole monitor, Home Assistant sensors, I have 3 controlling lights. The only thing I'll say is that one of mine arrived dead. Can't upload anything to it. So, 4/5 working gets 4/5 stars.
