I cannot speak to its sturdiness. The build quality seems adequate but nothing to brag about. The angled bladed made quick (really quick) and nearly effortless work of shredding a head of green cabbage in 1/16 " slices, thin-slicing several bags or radishes and a pound of carrots. I cleaned it just as easily, folded it up and slipped it into a small space in a cabinet. OOH!
