**Q: Can this be used as a hood insulator?**
A: Negative, material is extremely flammable and not design to withstand the high temperatures from the engine bay.

**Q: Can thos be used for the interior of a cargo van?**
A: I used it on the interior surface of a car door to deaded road noise.  I would think your application would be similar and as successful as my application.

**Q: how thick is it (in inches)?**
A: 197mil is equal to 5mm or 0.2 inches.

**Q: what is the weight of the item? is it really 7.4 ounces?**
A: I don’t have enough left to weigh but it is very light weight.

Fiberglass on the front of the motor home would drip on the dash when it was below freezing. I sprayed water on it to know that it wasn't a leak. It wasn't so that indicates that it was an insulation problem. Warm air holds more humidity(water) than cold air, therefore when air cools down moisture forms on the surface of the material that has two different temperature on it's opposite sides. Insulation changes (slowes) the difference of tempature to the other. Glass is an example of a poor insulator.
