How do i troubleshoot this?** A: Here is some troubleshooting information from Garmin. You can also contact them directly if you are still having issues. You will also need the R10 unit to be between 6 to 8 feet behind the ball that is not shown in the below information. The below information is distance from the hitting net to the ball. The more distance the ball is away from the net the more accurate the readings will be. 8 feet shown below is the minimum. 10-12 feet would be even more accurate. Shots Are Inaccurate or Not Being Detected Indoors Indoor usage of the device can be affected by different factors than outdoor usage. The tee/ball location must be at least 8 ft. (2.4 m) away from the net when playing indoors. This allows for enough launch angle on shots to be properly measured. Metal and concrete objects can affect the radar detecting shots. Other than keeping it at the 8 ft. distance away from the poles on nets, it is ideal to keep other objects away from the device and hitting surface. If you are using a golf mat, make sure the bottom edge of the device sits above the mat. **Q: Does monitor include club path metrics?** A: The Approach R10 has tracking metrics such as club head speed, ball speed, spin, launch angle, launch direction, smash factor and more. Like just the overall speed not all the other stats specific to golf.** A: I would highly doubt it would track those. Golf launch monitors struggle to detect extremely low shots in general so I don't think it would detect a hockey puck shot because those are really low even though the swing is similar with a hockey stick compared to a golf club. Also the shape and size of a hockey puck is just not similar to a golf ball. No idea how you would even set it up to detect a baseball pitch since this device is very small and placed on the ground. This device detects golf swing paths and a baseball pitch is just not similar to a golf shot at all so doubtful on this as well. This is a great little device for entry level shot statistics. It sets up quickly and easily. The Garmin app is required for use with optional subscription for additional features. I have now used this device enough times to test different clubs. I find that the carry distances are quite accurate with wedges and short irons. Longer clubs read short. I hit a bucket of balls of Drivers today and compared a $3000 Bushnell Foresight unit to the R10. It picked up every shot, even poor ones. I found the ball speed to be spot on. The launch angles were very close also. The big discrepancy comes with the back spin; the R10 had readings ranging from 500-1700RPMs too high. This caused the carry distance readings to be short. All in all a nice unit at this price point, but will not provide accurate spin measures so calculated carry distance will be off. So if you’re looking for accurate carry numbers, you will need a higher quality launch monitor.
