So close to perfect, I'd rate this 4.5 stars if I could but I'm rounding it to 5. The bad first. Limited extensions. Not a big deal, more are like $10. No angle universal joint adapters. Also cheap to add on. Lack of wrenches, Only 3 imperial and 3 metric wrenches. However the big minus here is the absolute lack of organization for the allen keys. It comes with I believe 40 allen keys, which is useful but they come in plastic bags. Come on Craftsman. I don't want to dig through a bag looking for a 4mm allen key for five minutes. Lastly, I wish there was a smaller screwdriver or angle adapter as the screwdriver is a little big for hard to reach areas. However, don't let the bad fool you - the only reason there are so many bad things is because there are so many things in this kit to critique. The sockets and wrenches are great. There are dozens of bits for the screwdriver, and some of them seem to fit JIS screws without destroying them which is a huge plus. The carry case is super convenient. And lastly, the price is cheap for all you get. Would definitely recommend for beginning mechanics or someone who wants to start building a tool set. It's been my experience that you'll lose far, far more wrenches than you'll ever break. If you want him to have a show piece, buy him Mac, Snap-On, or Proto. If it's for everyday use, there is nothing wrong with Craftsman.
