**Q: does it stay up? I seem to have issues with door stops falling down when not in use**
A: Yes they stay up quite nicely

**Q: Would this work for a fence gate? I have a double gate fence across my driveway. If it’s windy the one gate blows and hits my car.**
A: That would be a unique and unintended application of the device. The kickdown door stoppers are intended to hold doors open, not closed. If your gate normally swings inward, then I suppose every time you close the gate or were concerned about wind, then you could kick down the door stopper to help stop the gate from moving and indeed it might work. You just have to remember to manually raise the door stopper every time you want to open the gate. Secondly if you have a dirt or gravel type surface against which the rubber foot of the door stopper has to engage, I’m guessing that with pressure and force against that stopper, that the dirt or gravel would give way and then the gate would swing open again. Also depending on how you installed the stopper, it’s possible that the flex of the rubber foot or the flex of the gate, could still cause the gate to swing open. It’s cheap enough to try, so might be worth a shot. If your gate opens outward and you’d have to reach through the gate to lift up and disengage the door stopper, then it probably wouldn’t be worth it. You might also see if there’s another way, such as your gate’s latch, that you can improve that to see if you can prevent the gate swinging open. Consider a spring-loaded hinge as well. Good luck with your project.

A: It's 7 inches from the center of the pin to bottom and the total length is about 8 inches long.

**Q: mounting instructions?  How do you determine the proper distance up from the floor to attach it to the door?**
A: If the rubber tip is not fixed flat on the floor, The rubber tip will slip
First, Hold the door stopper with your hand and Place the rubber tip flat on the floor, then go straight to the door,, mark it at that position, and fix the screw.
It can be said that it is a proper way to fix it.
