Review: Splints/stiffeners are sharp and cut through the seams (and wearer's skin) very quickly. - The metal stiffeners (splints) are very sharp and quickly cut through the material. I bought this for an 88 year old woman who is very petite and the product began failing in 2 days. I originally thought I had received a faulty item so I ordered a replacement only to have the second fail just as quickly. When the metal splints start coming through, they can cut the patient as well as the caregiver. Gloves don't stand a chance. I recommend that the manufacturer address two issues: 1. The seams holding the splints are very weak and need better reinforcement. 2. The metal splints appear to be stamped from sheets which crate very sharp edges. If these splints were sanded on the edges or otherwise treated to dull their sharpness, it would also help the device last longer and not to harm or injure the user.
