It doesn't need to be refrigerated, but the box recommends it. Easy to swallow and pretty much tasteless. I dealt with digestive and intimate issues during my first pregnancy, but with the use of this, it hasn't been an issue. Pricewise, it's a decent value. Probiotics are never truly cheap and can often be a get what you pay for kind of deal, so I'm pleased with this especially given it's free of common "undesirables" (GMO, artificial colors, animal byproducts, etc.).
