It is a hard plastic not a soft rubber. I use it on both my stone floor and my kitchen Lino floor with no problems.

**Q: hi can i have this cut to 149cm x 42 cm ?**
A: Hello, My understanding is that you have to buy a standard size that is bigger than you require and then cut it to the size you need. A Stanley knife will do it quite easily but use a new blade.  My daughter did that with hers and the piece left over is now an entry mat for the cats when they come through the cat flap.

**Q: Is t fireproof?**
A: I would say not fireproof and it has rubber type backing

Not the best looking anti slop mat(but it works)!!have this in hallway(tried visually pleasing to look at mats etc) they did,nt work(even with adhesive straps to stop mat moving on carpet)they moved,thought dangerous for our 83yr dad(as edge's mats turned up)tried this,it's solid(thick)not moved once(had to move back from front door(cause thick could,nt open door), other than way looks ,its perfect anti slip mat,
