For such a small product the light is rather bright. I gave one to my son in law since during the last storm they had lost power for a week. These can be run by batteries and once that runs out of juice then they have the ability to run it through the solar panel. I got one for myself since we also get affected by power outages. During the day I placed it by my window to absorb the sunlight, I placed it in our hall this way at night who's so ever needs to go to the restroom can take it in there. The goose neck is extremely flexible which surprised me.
