It does however pick up surface dirt and grime really well! We have a german shepherd dog and we get a lot of muddy prints every day during our wet weather months. The bucket is easy to fill, and dump, and the reusable/washable pads are easy to put on the mop head. I've been using this mop every day for the last month+ to keep our front porch floor clean. It's doing a great job at that, and since I can really wring the mop so it's pretty dry, I've been using it to wash all those little muddy spots the dog throws onto our walls. Works great, and my friends actually thought I had my walls repainted because they were so clean! Probably my favorite purchase for the year so far.
