I didn’t even change the bushing on top. just put the tuner in and used the old screws. The locking mechanism seems pretty solid and worked just like the more expensive D’darrio locking tuners I have on another guitar. The only drawback is that they don’t turn quite as smoothly as more expensive ones, but who cares for $25 they work great. I got the nickel ones and they basically look just like the stock tuners.
