We bought it for my mother who is in a care home which needs heat for many of the rooms but her room was also in full sun all day. She is ofter warm due to her meds but this works so well we need a coat to visit her Hose is just long enough to reach window and the part to fot it into is plant large enough for most normal sized windows It can be a bit noisy when working flat out. The unit is a nice size similar to a kitchen bin and moves really nicely. Review: Great product cools the room and power efficient - Ok I purchased this product after reading many comparison reviews with this one coming out best overall ! Firstly I will comment like another reviewer did about the handles on the side. These are clearly there for moving the unit around the floor on its wheels. Do not use these to pick the unit up. You must bear hug it with a hand underneath. It is a heavy unit so make sure you have a capable person to help you. I have now used the unit for a few days and this is what I think. It is very good at cooling down the room and quickly if you put the temp down to 16 have the fan on swing and a moderate speed. Once you got the temp down to a comfortable figure I would say around 19/20 then I set it at 20 and it then works alternating between fan and aircon which I have found I have slept comfortably even though the aircon bit is a bit noisy but not so bad I couldn’t sleep. The remote control is handy to have and easy to use. So far I have found this air conditioner user friendly and it does the job. It does come with a windows kit including a zipped material shield that you can use on conventional windows and I have also got it to fit a velux nicely which helps seal where the heat tube needs to go out the window. This tube although very stiff is long enough unlike reviews I have read about others. Having checked my electric consumption it’s not been massive even with lots of use so that’s a plus. It is really designed for sliding windows and has a seal to close the remaining gap. This does not work on opening windows so you might need a separate kit designed for hinged windows such as the HOOMEE 400CM Universal Window Seal for Portable Air Conditioner And Tumble Dryer **Q: Does the remote control have a display?** A: No the Remote control does not have a display. **Q: Where does the exhaust pipe go on the unit itself? Id assume it goes on the back but i can't see anything circular on the picture.** A: It ducts out the back, easy to attach pipe **Q: How do you order the alternative window kit? I do not have a sash window** A: Hello, I have regular type windows, and I just hang the exhaust on the upwards tilted handle of the small top opening window, with the window open. It works fine. I also have another air con unit in the bedroom, and also just hang the vent on the handle, with the window slightly open, ofc. Again, no problems so far, in over a years usage. I do have vent fitting bits of plastic that came with both of the units, but I've been too lazy to drill any holes and mount them :) If I were to bothered, I would fix the plastic vent mountings to the upvc windows using screws, and have the windows slightly open, as I do currently.
