That is the flat measurement. Double it for the actual chest circumference. 22.5 x 2 = 45”. Tbat should fit a 42-44” chest with sufficient ease to not be too baggy or skin-tight. That’s actually a bit roomy for a medium which for most manufacturers is a 36”-38” chest. My personal theory is that while some Asian manufacturers don’t adjust thier sizing for a western market or simply add larger sizes, others may go overboard on the sizing to the point that it resembles vanity sizing. A 45” chest is right between a large & an XL for most teeshirts. I have yet to buy one of these shirts- I will just as soon as I can stop shaking my head at negative reviews from dudes who can’t or won’t read a care label & refuse to do anything but what they always have & answering questions from people who are completely flummozed by an omitted space. **Q: Do to they all develop holes in them after 1 wash or is that just mine?** A: Little holes are usually a sign of moths. Just becuase you dont see moths does not mean you dont have them. Try putting a 100% wool sweater in your closet without a plastic cover and see what it looks like after some time. Moth holes. **Q: Can you see through this shirt?** A: No, our bamboo shirts are tightly woven, feel thick, you can't see through them **Q: Can I do an iron on on the bamboo shirt?** A: Bamboo Rayon, with its silky texture would indeed be a nice surface for romantic times but You should probably just buy knitted bamboo sheets. Granted, Robert Downy Jr. IS a handsome fella whom I would not personally kick out of bed for eating crackers but I Don’t know why anyone would want to “do an iron”- on any surface! The risk of injury is substantial. If the iron is plugged-in/turned on, the risk becomes a certainty! But hey, different strokes for different folks, I guess? Sorry; I couldn’t resist! Seriously though. This is a knitted rayon fabric so it can take a low-medium iron. Most irons should have a “rayon” setting so start with that. Steam will help with the more stubborn wrinkles. In fact, a steamer is probably a better option if you have one. I worked at a boutique that sold chiefly knitted rayon clothing & we used a steamer on all of the new stock. Washing in cold water on a gentler cycle in a mesh bag will help maintain the smooth texture & is just generally a good idea. Rayon should always be hung or laid flat to dry. This is what we told all of the customers when ringing up purchases at the boutique. We did not, however go into WHY- Any agitation while drying will cause shrinkage (which people are complaining about here) & wrinkles as well. Any wrinkling from the wash should fall out while hanging & be gone by the time it’s dry. Nature abhors a vacuum but Rayon abhors a dryer.
