Dont be fooled by Disney adaptations. Those are made to appeal to children. These tales however? Unfiltered and honest. You think you know Cinderella and Rapunzel? Think again! This collection is marvelous for people who appreciate Grimm’s tales as they were. Not the washed out versions told today. I love how there are addittional notes citing that the brother's obtained these tales all over Germany. They even admitted when certain tales were influenced by other countries! In their pursuit of collecting stories that reflected Germany in a certain way, they did a great job!! Also, I recommend this book for older teenagers and up.
