The Giant Kennel weighs approximately 40 lbs and takes up a bunch of space but if you need a kennel for a larger dog, this works really well and holds up great. **Q: Are the 4 bolts enough for flying my pets on a plane?** A: It actually comes with way more than 4 bolts. I have used this kennel 3 times to fly a dog with no problems! **Q: Are the fasteners plastic or metal? I have a do who is an escape artist and breaks out of wire crates.** A: The size I bought is slightly smaller than the 36" and I have Tibetan Spaniels. They haven't been aggressive with it, so it's been fine for them. Vari-Kennels were always good for my German Shepherds. If you have only used wire crates, you may find that the more enclosed plastic crate have a more calming den-like quality that helps settle your dog.
