It is very well made & strong. The pan with handles is separate from the removable rack. V-shape rack is an extra safety feature preventing slide-off I use a quick spray of olive oil to ensure easy cleanup. I don't know how I ever managed Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas prime rib or Easter ham without this pan.
