I get that you get the added convenience, but it only seems to apply to yarn. You can get those same added conveniences when buying virtually anything else, without as high of a markup as yarn seems to have on Amazon. It’s really frustrating. **Q: How many does it take for an adult blanket** A: It really depends on what you mean by "adult size", and also what stitch pattern you're intending to use. Most adult blankets I make are lap sized ( aka "lapghans"). In which case it could take anywhere from 1 or 2 skeins (for a stitch that isn't very dense, say, a pineapple shape or some simple fans and arches) or 4 skeins (a very dense stitch, like the waffle or basket weave stitch). I've never made a blanket that was huge, like Queen sized, so I can't say for sure. But my guess would be double what I use for a lapghan or twin sized. So 4 for a lacey, loose stitch (with a larger hook than usual, to add that loose drape effect, like a K size) or maybe 8, possibly 10(?) for a dense stitch, which I usually use an I or maybe J size hook for. **Q: Is this yarn softer than Vannas choice?** A: It's lighter in weight and very soft (but I have to admit that the softness is sometimes affected by the yarn color). Regardless, you get much more bang for your buck with the pound of love (16 full oz) for anywhere from $7.00-$11.00 per skein, depending on when you buy. I prefer this yarn to Vanna's yarn because it's versatile. You can use it for medium weight afghans to lightweight baby blankets, depending on the size of the crochet hook you choose. **Q: How many stitches to the inch on #8 needles?** A: Make a swatch and that will help you to know how it measures out. I use #8 crochet hook.
