If this is the case you will need a spacer behind the cassette as Shimano spline mountain hubs are all 10 speed. The NX is designed for 10 mountain hubs but should work fine on an 11 speed hub with a spacer. **Q: the 11-42t is listed as NX but is it still compatible with a Rival 1 group set?** A: Yes, this will work with a Rival 1 group.
