What I did was to unscrew the lid and have a sniff before I had one-what you smell is to a certain extent how it's going to taste! The taste does not bother me that much, however, I can easily imagine that if I was feeling a little nauseous then, it would definitely make me retch. The taste is of cloves with something bitter-which is probably the wormwood. There is also some sweetness-which must be the honey, apple juice and cinnamon. If like me, you're used to sucking on, and then chewing a clove every day as I do, then the taste might not be as bad for you-except where the clove is spicy, you will get a bitter taste. People have mentioned drinking mint tea, and though I've not done this, I can see it will help. Just don't drink water afterwards-you will still be able to taste it easily, and the taste will linger. However, maybe juice or squash will help, but don't make the squash super weak. I did chew on half a teaspoon of fennel seeds (I don't think many people will like chewing on fennel seeds-but I chew them for various health reasons) afterwards and it did really help to tone down the taste of bitterness.
