## Description

This might be the perfect little pocketknife. With its less-than-two-inch blade, the Chive is a small knife, which makes it perfect for pocket, pack, purse, or briefcase carry. Yet even at this small size, it can handle just about any cutting task you ask it to—from opening packages to cutting duct tape. Kershaw's assisted opening makes it easy to open with just a quick pullback on the built-in flipper. The two locking systems ensure safe usage and transport. A frame lock provides solid blade lock-up while the blade is in operation and the sliding Tip-lock keeps the blade safely in the handle during transport. You can look to Kershaw for everyday carrying knives that can tame any cardboard box and liberate any purchase from its plastic packaging, sporting knives that make hunting, fishing, watersports, and camping even better, work knives that won’t let you down, and tactical knives that ensure you’re ready for anything.

Review: Amazing blade! Not as pretty as advertised - The good: It's almost all good honestly. Let me start by saying Kershaw is a household brand to me. I love these little knives. They are hands down the best folding knives I've ever used. Incredibly solid feeling, extremely easily serviceable to the user, incredibly simple and easy to use and handle. Fits incredibly well in the hand, even with big hands, and they always come sharper than most knives I have ever owned. The tip of the blade is the finest useable point in my opinion possible, but this is not a pry bar kind of blade like a cheap walmart tool. The bad: I should just say "the disappointing" really, because the blade is perfect, functionally. The bad is that the advertisement makes it look like it has an almost orange/bronze bright outline to the graphic on the blade which, to me, was a big unique aesthetic to a blade I would have honestly just bought the most standard brushed finish possible to be practical. I pulled the trigger on this fancier looking design and it honestly just looks like a stain on the blade. It is not as flashy or contrasted as the images in the ad look, so I included pictures of the real thing in my review. Don't get me wrong, I love this knife and I won't be returning it unless something cracks or breaks on it. I just would have purchased a "less pretty" color choice if I knew the pretty color choice was such a let down! Still gets 5 stars from me though, the look isn't enough to make me dislike it.
Review: Favorite knife I've ever owned except the Shallot. - My first love was a Kershaw Shallot, and I adored it. When I lost that one, I switched to the Leek as the Shallot had been discontinued. This is my second Leek - lost that one, too. Must be fate, as the only knives I've ever lost are the two Kershaws 😭 I will probably always own a Kershaw onion of some sort - they're my favorite knives I've ever owned. 1. Slimmest, lightest knife I've ever carried. It disappears into your pocket like a dream and doesn't attract a ton of attention, which is nice when you don't necessarily want to have Knife Conversations with every guy you meet. 2. Excellent assisted open. It's addictive. I get such a quiet joy from using this knife, no matter how often I use it. Every box I get to open with it is a little gift. 3. I find the D2 steel rarely needs touched up, but it's not terribly difficult to sharpen, either. A nice balance between the two. 4. Fits wonderfully in the hand and is comfortable to use for precision work. The tip is very fine and great for delicate tasks. 5. Classy knife, in my estimation . It isn't *Tactical*, just a sleek-looking tool that does what it's supposed to do and doesn't take up any more space or attention than it needs to. 6. I've never needed to send my knife in for a blade replacement and I do my own sharpening, but Kershaw's lifetime services are very nice and definitely worthwhile. 7. Effortlessly serviced and maintained by yourself. 8. The blade lock is nice, but easily removed if you dislike it. I did remove mine because I found it just added one extra step, and it never opened in my pocket. I suppose they're not for everyone, but the Leek just ticks every box for me.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic EDC knife!!!
*by H***S on February 24, 2015*

This is a great knife! After using it for a couple months now, I understand why it was so much more than the standard Leek. If I was using the standard Leek with the stainless steel blade, I definitely would have had to sharpen it by know. My knife is still very sharp and has incredible edge retention! The D2 edge is absolutely amazing! I've been cutting some pretty thick stuff (Lots of thick plastic strapping). The only thing I would watch out for is the tip. It's very fine and could potentially break off with sufficient side-to-side force. You don't have to worry about piercing things, only prying. I've also noticed that the rust resistance has been way better than I expected, probably because of the Blackwash finish. I've cut several oranges with it, wiped it off, and I don't see a speck of rust anywhere. The Speedsafe assisted opening mechanism work wonderfully. Flicks out at the speed of light and takes little effort. The flipper isn't sticking way out, so you shouldn't have to worry about unwanted deployment. The knife comes with a sliding lock, but I've never had to use it. I always leave it unlocked and it will not deploy unless you are doing something truly ridiculous haha. This truly is worth every penny in my book, and it is worth paying the extra ~$30 for this model, as it will serve as a better knife (and it looks awesome!). If you are looking for a great-performing, great-looking knife that will serve you everyday and that you can depend on, do yourself a favor and pick this up!
