Really there's very little difference in brightness/dimness, other than the glare and harsh light-waves being blocked out. The dimming is a little more pronounced at night. I won't pretend that they're better than my Mauis or Costas, but they're really really good. I haven't worn them out on the water kayaking yet, which introduces a whole other variant of light waves, but I'm pretty confident in them. I will be buying a few extra pairs to keep in reserve and in various places so I can always have access to them. BE ADVISED: -- FIT: I have a really big head and these fit me well. If you have a smaller or more narrow head/face, these may be a little wide for you. -- FIELD OF VIEW: the ear pieces connection to the frames is a little bigger than I like, as are the thicknesses of the frame sides. So when running or biking your peripheral vision is a little impaired. Do they fog up easy?** A: I love these, but, they seem to “cook” my eyes, in extreme heat/humidity. Mowing my pastures, with 105* heat index, I can wear them for about 30 minutes. If you wear them lower on your nose, for ventilation, they bounce.
