Primarily using to transport daughter' electric guitar to and from college.** A: No it will not fold. It is solid formed foam like a hardshell case but very lightweight. **Q: Works for a Flying V?** A: I don't think it would be wide enough **Q: what's the compartment size?** A: Interior Dimensions Body Length: 19.00 " Body Height: 3.38 " Lower Bout Width: 12.75 " Middle Bout Width: 12.75 " Upper Bout Width: 12.75 " Overall Length: 39.50 " ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent hard lightweight case *by on Reviewed in Canada 5 May 2023* I went back and forth between a Gibson hard case or a gig bag, researching all the options (not a lot of case options that form fit for SG style guitars). I found this Gator bag/case at a good price and had a similar style case for my Flying V, which I liked, and was at a good price here on Amazon. I was going to pull the trigger on a Gibson Protector case but decided to give this one a try first and I’m glad I did. This case is solid like a hard case would be but operates like a gig bag (including shoulder straps). The case is well built, very solid (no flex) and very light. Hesitate not..you won’t regret this purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful travel guitar case with great protection *by on Reviewed in the United States 2 August 2025* This is a perfect fit for my Taylor 316 CE baritone guitar. It’s very well designed for protection, due to the rigidity of the polyfoam inside, and yet very lightweight! Far superior to a case I ordered and subsequently returned, since it had padding inside, but no rigidity, and thus, lackluster protection. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent F and A style Case *by on Reviewed in Canada 2 October 2017* As so many others have commented, this is an excellent case. It is light, durable and will fill the role of both a gig bag and a hard case. There is ample room for most knick knacks a musician might need: tuner, humidifier, monitor, strings, music, etc. I play an A style mandolin and it fits mine snugly. (Gator says the pack is made for both F and A style, and it is true.)The one small critique I would make is it is a little shallow. I have a Kentucky 272 and there is a fair bit of convexing in the sound body. The case is a little snugger vertically than I would like. But still quite functional. I'd like to see Gator give maybe a quarter inch more play vertically.Still, awesome case and very happy with it. ## Frequently Bought Together - Gator Lightweight Case - Electric Bass Guitar - LEKATO Bass Guitar Straps for Electric Guitar & Bass 3" Wide Bass Strap Padded Guitar Straps Adjustable Length from 45" to 55" Bass Guitar Strap with Pick Holder 2 Safety Strap Locks & 6 Picks --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/317031547-rigid-rigid-eps-foam-lightweight-case-for-bass-guitars](https://www.desertcart.us/products/317031547-rigid-rigid-eps-foam-lightweight-case-for-bass-guitars) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
