They work great! If you can’t turn it over measure from edge in mark do same on other side mount em as center as possible then make a temp attached to the top set down and see how far off and make adjustments then permant attach **Q: What are the demintions when hinge is closed?** A: Approx. 12.5" x 4"(Total length x total height) **Q: when fully exteneded/open can they completely center the lid over the hole they cover?** A: No, they pivot so that the surface is offset. You need hardware that extends straight up, like a drawer slide. **Q: Can it lock at various height levels?
