These sandals are terrific for water, sand, and give the traction and stability to climb the rocky areas that surround our rivers. The Z2 sandal is my favorite because the toe strap stabilizes the forefoot. The Z2 as well as the Z1 have aheel cup and strapes on either side also. My daughter, while attending college became involved in river rafting with friends, and introduced me to my first Chacos. That was almost 20 years ago. I have worn them ever since. I've had many rewebbed some resoled and I must have at least 10 pair. I am a cancer survivor and suffer from neuropathy in my feet from chemo. Shoes drive me crazy, Chacos are my foot gear of choice.
