## Overview

The Easy to Grow Passion Flower Betty Myles Young is a fast-growing, perennial vine that reaches up to 20 feet, producing fragrant purple flowers and delicious passion fruit. Ideal for USDA zones 8-11, it thrives in full sun with moderate watering and attracts pollinators, making it a vibrant, low-maintenance addition to any outdoor space.

## Description

The whimsical lavender and white flowers produced by this vigorous vine are only the opening act for the delicious, tangy fruit that follows. The fruit is exceptionally tasty, but only if it’s ripened enough to turn purple and fall from the vine. Once this happens, you’ve got the perfect ingredient for juices, baked goods, and even cocktails! Frederick is a quick-growing evergreen (in zones 8 and higher) that enjoys a long growing season and is quite tolerant of heat. Its reliably hardy nature allows it to continue thriving in winter wet and brief frost, just be sure to give it something to climb! Enjoy in containers in cooler zones.

Review: Shipped well, thrived after planting, already flowering. - I ordered two of these plants and they arrived relatively quickly from an in-state nursery. They arrived in a shipping bag in good condition. I planted them immediately with excellent soils and water regularly. Over a period of about a month, they have doubled in size and already one plants had two flowers. I'm quite happy with them, and look forward to see what they do in the coming year.
Review: Great plant! - Came packaged very well. Healthy plant within. Pleased

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can you ship to california ?**
A: Thank you for asking! We are located and ship from Oceanside California, so no problem! :)

**Q: I live in Houston which is Zone 9, can I plant this and when should I plant this early spring (March)?**
A: Greetings: Yes, you should be able to grow this plant in your area outside if desired. I have to grow them indoors where I live (zone 5b). Spring is an ideal time for you, or fall (cooler) best of luck.

**Q: I live in north Sacramento near Sacramento. We have really hot summers and cold winters but no snow. Do you think the plant would survive?**
A: I'm in southern Arizona - I can guarantee you our summers are at least as hot, if not more so and we occasionally have hard freezes in winter. My passiflora is in a pot because past attempts to grow them in ground have resulted in death by caterpillars. As long as you mulch the roots, even if the plant dies back to the ground, it should be okay in ground, but hopefully you won't have the issues with the caterpillars we've had!

**Q: Will this do okay in nothern Texas?**
A: I'm not familiar with Nth Texas elevation and climate. I'm in northern California below 100ft elevation. I only purchased this plant in the spring however, my previous plant made it through our unusually mild winter. It will survive a hot summer as long as it gets enough water. Passion fruit plants will die off in the fall and return in early summer.
