On the AVERAGE, this meter is very accuate. Each test event individually will cluster around an accurate result but can vary even if taken minutes apart. This is just the nature of this type of meter. These strips are by far cheaper than most of the competition. If you have a doubt about a single test result (too high or too low), I suggest a retest a few minutes later to verify. Also, do not test within 4 hours of eating as this will read high. Please wait until the blood drop icon is blinking after insertion of the strip before testing. Many failed results are from testing too quickly.
