Review: Best reusable water bottle - **Update** Been using mine every time I leave the house, for work, school, or other, it's been 18 months and only now has it started to leak. I really liked this bottle, I rarely cleaned it, as I only used water, and it would get slightly musty smelling if I left it in the sun, but I honestly washed it maybe 6-7 times in 18 months! Also, I've stepped on this several times, by accident, and I only weigh about 110lb, but still! My stepping on it didn't cause the leak though, just noticed it around where the cap meets the plastic of the bag. wish I knew how to recycle it. -adult child Bought one for each of us for Christmas. Adult children LOVE them and use each day. I use mine only when I want water (no ice or flavoring) and am out and about shopping, hiking, etc. I'd seen a co worker with one and she loved hers, highly recommended them. At work I want to add half ice to my water so I used a covered cup. The opening would also make it a little harder to refill using the water cooler dispensers. I'd have to put the opening right up around the flow valves from those machines and I am not confident with our cleaning crews attention to hygiene. (Somehow I think if there is more air space then my drink won't get contaminated--could just be me.) When shopping though, or WHEN I CAN'T FILL IT FROM HOME, then it's great--my go to bottle, use it 1-2x per week. Wonderful for air travel because you can just collapse it into your bag or pocket. My kids love it, use it at their work places, school, work. They fill them up, partially freeze, even use them at home instead of the endless barrage of cups. They like to use them at home because the house cat considers any open container an invitation for her to have a sip. I would have liked to purchase different colors. We put our initials on ours with a permanent marker. I thought I was ordering different colors, was amazed at the change in price. So, out of all of the reusable containers we have purchased and used over the years, this seems to be the best water container.
Review: Perfect for trips! lightweight, compact, and clean - I took this water bottle on a 2-week trip around Peru and it was PERFECT! Very lightweight and compact, so I could carry it around in my purse and fill it up whenever we found potable water. The neck is also big enough that you can use a steri-pen in it to sterilize the water, which is great for camping, 3rd world countries, etc. I never had any trouble with leaking (as long as I screwed the top on tightly - you do have to make sure it's on pretty tight), the sipper mouth was a great size and easy to keep clean, it was easy to fill, stands up nicely on a table or whatnot, you can squeeze the air out when it's partially full and it magically becomes a half-size water bottle... it was wonderful in every way! We had no taste or smell issues, and it even seemed somehow resistant to the mildewy funk that often besets my Nalgene bottles if I don't empty and clean them frequently. I bought the 1L size, which was perfect for my needs - big enough to keep me hydrated when I was running around during the day, small enough to not be heavy, bulky, or hard to carry. And again, easy to refill (even in the back of a bus going along bumpy dirt roads and around cliffside hairpin turns!). Everyone else on my trip was jealous of my Vapur and wished they'd bought one too! My only complaint is I very clearly ordered the blue color, and got sent a black one instead. I didn't have time to return it before my trip, so I just used it anyway, but you shouldn't offer color options if you're not going to honor them... grumble, grumble. **Q: Is it leak proof?**
A: 1 of the 6 bottles I ordered and gave to family members did leak on the first day. My daughter put it in her handbag, during the day the water bottle was inverted and leaked. None of the other leak when full and held inside down.
The one bottle is defective as water can flow into the cap, which is not sealed. A new cap has fixed the priblem.
Vapur did not respond to emails or phone calls so I purchased the new cap myself.

**Q: How durable is this container? I just was gifted one and really like it, and the reviews are very high, but I'm afraid it will puncture in my book bag**
A: I purchased the 1.5 liter bag and when I dropped it from about thigh height, it broke. Not a huge hole or anything, just no longer sealed and dripping water. I am exchanging it for another, smaller size to see if maybe the less amount can improve sturdiness and also I wasn’t crazy about the original color. I’ll update if it is actually not really durable.

**Q: How do you wash it? Can it be put in a dishwasher?**
A: Mine have been through the dishwasher many times. I position it over one of the tines and make sure there is a glass behind it to keep it in place. I have had no issues with either one of mine.

**Q: Is there anyway to attach this bottle to a 1.5 inches wide shoulder strap. I'd like to fix it so it won't dangle from my iPad case.**
A: Yes, the hook is two inches long

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great water bottle replacement

I chose the 1 liter size because I thought it would be nice to carry that much water if I needed and could always not completely fill it if I didn't want as much water. Why pay the same price for a smaller size right? After using it for a couple of weeks, I think I'll order the 0.7 liter to see if that size is any better. Pros: Overall, the design for this foldable and water bottle is excellent. When you're done with your water, it's absolutely easy to store and carry not to mention that its super light-weight to begin with so carrying this bottle isn't a chore. I have not had any issues with leaks. The flip-top cap seems sturdy and pours well and the carabiner clip is actually useful. I'm not sure if the matte finish makes it easier to hold as I have not used the other Vapur bottles without the matte finish. Cons: Why did this bottle not get 5 stars? First, it does not fit the cup holder in my 2009 Honda CRV. It might actually fit if the bottle isn't completely full and I squeeze the base a bit to mold to the cup holder. Same issue when I'm at the gym. If completely filled with water, the base doesn't quite fit the cup holders on the elliptical or treadmill. I haven't used this for running because this doesn't seem like the best choice if you have to hold the bottle in your hand. They edges are slightly sharp and uncomfortable if you're used to a rounded water bottle and since the shape can shift, it makes one handed use difficult. I find my self having to stop while on the treadmill or elliptical in order to actually use the bottle. I'm not sure if the matte finish is easier to hold, but I do know that it shows scratches easier. Not a problem for most people but there are those that do not like seeing scratches on their belongings. Also, I don't like the placement of the carabiner clip on these flip-top bottles. I can't seem to manage to roll up the bottle and use the clip as easily as it's displayed in the images. It seems like the carabiner attached to the side of the bottles without the flip-top cap would make it easier to roll up and use the carabiner to keep it rolled up. All issues aside, this is still a great anti-bottle water bottle. I would highly recommend it and it is currently what I'm using when I'm not actively training or running outdoors. I prefer this bottle for commuting and even the gym because when I'm done, it's super light to carry and easy to stash.
