They made a noticeable difference! The padding provides enough cushioning to make longer rides much more comfortable without feeling bulky, and the shorts stayed in place well throughout my workout. The material is comfortable, breathable, and the sizing was accurate for me. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality and they have made cycling much more enjoyable. My one disappointment is the high waistband. I was hoping it would provide a little more tummy support and help smooth my "muffin top," but it doesn't offer as much compression or shaping as I expected. It's comfortable, just not as supportive as I had hoped in that area. Overall, I'd still recommend these shorts, especially if you're looking for added comfort on the bike.
