Heavy gauge and cleans easily. The lids are oddly heavy as well - much more so than plastic. I feel like the lids will last a lifetime. They are bit snug making them tricky to install but that makes them very watertight. I wouldn't put them upside down in my computer bag with chicken noodle soup but they are definitely slosh-proof if kept upright.
