My wife has her 50oz bottle laid down on the top shelf as well and that fits just fine. The door is plenty tall enough to fit your 2 liter bottle or whatever you desire (I’ve got a large coffee creamer on the door) and a few cans/sauces or whatever. The small storage at the top gets a bit colder than everything else, but it’s not a freezer so don’t go expecting that. The temperature control is simple but you don’t need much. It’s cold as hell on “normal” but of course, adjust as you please. I’ve read some reviews that says the fridge is noisy but I haven’t experienced that at all. It sounds like a fridge when it’s cooling and dead silent when it isn’t. The freezer compartment needs to be defrosted every so often or else the fridge will not be able to stay cold. The freezer does work if you put something already frozen in (I'm not sure if it will freeze something that's not frozen yet). The reason I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is because it came with a minor scratch and a loose handle (handle - made of plastic- is still loose but hasn't fallen off yet).
