The hide is thin though and almost paper thin. So thin, there is a hole in one area that probably happened during prep and cleaning. No chemical smells. It actually smells really good like shampoo. The hair is sparse in places but still not complaining. Keep this in mind if you need the whole thing for a specific purpose or project. Feeling a bit guilty but I did this to myself when I decided to fold it in half and wonder how big the goat was. From the pictures, it is clear to see it is almost the full hide. I've added a comparison photo laid next to a vintage quality sheepskin. Bargain for the price but I probably won't buy again and continue to look for secondhand hides due to Amazon's shady marketplace. I can never truly know the ethics on here. A bit hypocritically, I do enjoy quality materials.
