It does a good job of keeping the pens together securely and keeping them protected. Its not so big to be bulky, but it is big enough to securely hold 12 pens of varying sizes. The flap in the middle does a good job protecting the pens in the top & bottom section from each other so you don't have to worry about your pens getting damaged when it is folded. I haven't had it long enough to tell how well it will hold up over time. Its nice, but not so nice that I can tell that it will last a lifetime just by looking at it and touching it.
