This works by plugging it into your cigarette lighter port in your car, then choose a "dead air" station on the transmitter (this can take a little time to make sure you don;t get interference with other stations), turn your radio to that station, plug your phone in and BAM! You can listen to music or audio books from your phone through your car speakers. I got this for my husband to use in his truck since he doesn't have the AUX plug. It works better than other FM transmitters we have tried in the past. Very little to no static on the stations (as long as you find dead ones). The display is nice and clear.
