If needed, finish the connection to the floor using rigid metal pipe and metal elbows! **Q: Has anyone tried this yet? Any air/lint that blows by the seal created by the magnet?** A: The magnets create a tight and powerful seal. If your vent path is clear and unobstructed, then no air or lint will be able to escape. The magnet is strong enough to ensure a good connection between the housing and hose. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally fixes the problem of bad dryer vent connections! *by P***E on December 31, 2024* For years we had a coiled mess of a dryer vent tube, from the dryer to the wall connection. Hooking it up after working on the dryer was a pain -- hang over the dryer and try to reach the connection to fit it on the back of the dryer. Sure, we could have used a longer hose, but that means worse air flow and would probably be crushed when the dryer was pushed back against the wall. It sucked.The MagVent looked like a good idea, and after watching a YouTuber demo the device, and since I had need to move the dryer to do some work on the wall, we finally figured it was time to do this right.Overall, the MagVent was easy to install... any DIYer can do it. But the best part was when I put the dryer back in place. KLUNK! A very satisfying sound of the magnets on the two parts snapping into place. Pull the dryer out, and it disconnects just as easily. This is freakin' cool, and the vent connection actually works (go figure).Already have a friend who saw ours and ran out and bought one for himself, and he's happy about it too.Now I'm not bothered with the idea of pulling out the dryer to do maintenance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product that fixed dryer vent headaches with a pre-installed dryerbox *by B***L on August 17, 2023* A plastic “dryerbox” was already installed in our house when we moved in more than 10 years ago. The box has an elliptical duct connection at the top and had been a particular headache for years. I had a workable piece of semi-rigid corrugated duct between the dryerbox connection and the dryer, but it was always a fight to get the dryer slid in place in the tight laundry room while not kinking the duct or causing it to slip a little. If I positioned it “just so”, I could tighten the clamps and didn’t get any hot air or humidity in the laundry room. However, a little wobbling of the dryer over time or someone moving the dryer just a little seemed to always jostle things loose enough that I had to squeeze back behind the dryer again.After one recent frustrating bout of fighting with the hookup, I started searching for a better solution. I found the MagVent and installed it in the dryerbox as shown in the pictures. I first pulled the plastic elliptical insert out of the top of the dryerbox and hand-crimped a shortened piece of adjustable duct on the insert. After using high heat tape on the joints to prevent air leaks, a sturdy band clamp was used to make sure the duct extension won’t slip off. Then, I snapped the insert back in place.The 90 degree portion of the MagVent (heavy) is mounted to the dryerbox body on a bracket held with screws and is very sturdy. I ended up using a piece of adjustable duct on the dryer side as well because the dryer is up on a pedestal cabinet. Connection was easy and tight when the magnets lined up. The final connection sticks out from the wall a bit this way, but it’s fine for my setup. The connection could be made more flush by shortening the piece of vertical duct if space is super tight.Overall, I’m happy with the product and I don’t have to worry about the vent coming loose anymore.
