Imho, the Trafalgar Alexander is the most mechanically efficient and consistent of the three, especially with dense artisan soaps like Barrister and Mann Seville. Simpson Trafalgar Alexander (IMHO) Pros: Very dense knot with excellent backbone. Loads quickly and builds lather fast with minimal effort. Hydration feels predictable and repeatable. Great bang for the buck. Cons: If you want a “luxury badger feel”, this is more performance than indulgence. Edwin Jagger Badger Pros: Initially felt slightly poky, but after a few uses it settled beautifully. Once broken in, it is highly responsive and can build lather as well as the Trafalgar, while feeling more luxurious on the face.
