[Natural Ink Stone] High quality black ink stone which has fine irregularities and moderate hardness. It is easy to polish and is designed for use when grinding down black ink sticks. This ink stone is made of natural stone and so the surface does not wear away easily. The size is 7.6x2.1x13.5(cm), 15oz and easy to use. [Easy to use] We recommend this ink stone for both children and adults, beginners and experienced artists. This is an excellent entry level stone that is easy to use and has great durability, and thus good value. If anyone is interested in trying to grind ink by hand, this is a nice stone to use to test out the process. [How to use] 1. Drop a coin-size droplet of water on the flat ""hill"" of the ink stone 2. With some pressure, grind the ink stick into the water in a circular motion 3. When the ink becomes your preferred consistency, guide the ink towards the ink ""pool"" of the ink stone 4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you've created the preferred amount of ink. [Beautiful Packaging] The ink stone is packed in blue paper box. Perfect for gift-giving. [After use] After each use, be sure to remove any remaining moisture by gently wiping the ink stone using a cloth or paper and then rinse with water.

Review: Really nice product - This product does exactly what it is supposed to do, so I must give it 5 stars. I found that using an ink stick was much more tedious and time consuming than using ready-to-use ink, so I don’t really use this product very often. However I have to say this is not due to any problem with this product as it is very good and the cost-benefit ratio is excellent - I just say it here as a friendly warning to the casual calligraphy practitioner like myself who doesn’t want to spent so much time and effort gently grinding an ink stone. If you do, on the other hand, I’d definitely recommend this product.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do, so I must give it 5 stars. I found that using an ink stick was much more tedious and time consuming than using ready-to-use ink, so I don’t really use this product very often.
