The photos current show two different base types. One has a cup that is a hair over 2.5 inches inner diameter. This is what I received, and it can take poles up to 2.5 inches OD. However, note there are plastic caps that are intended to prevent the screws from gouging your pole. If you use both of these, max pole size is about 1.75 inches. If you use one (as shown in the current listing photo) it will take about 2-1/16 pole. Not a big deal, the caps come off easily and I'm not even sure you'd need to use the thumbscrews.The other base style had the very long screw. From the pictures it looks like it would take a much larger pole. Although most of the listing photos currently show this older style, the cup design is what I received and it seems great. I could find none of the machining or assembly problems that others described. The only screws which are threaded into the aluminum are the two thumb screws on the cup and three screws holding the "floor" to the bottom of the cup. The cup has thicker ribs at those locations so less prone to stripping. The rest are through holes with nuts so no other threads in the softer aluminum.I look forward to using this and don't anticipate any issues. I wanted a durable metal product, and it looks like this was the perfect choice. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stout, Adjustable, and Better Than Plastic Flag Pole Holders *by W***Y on December 31, 2024* Using it to hold the Starlink ground pole with Gen 2 Dishy. The SL pole is stout and heavy but has the Dishy adapter built in. Those plastic flag ploe holders require you to purchase a SL adapter - IMHO, both are overpriced and the plastic could fail.This was easy to install, adjust, and is holding up to the elements well. Hasn’t moved or slipped. It is stout too. Maybe not as elegant looking as the plastic holders but does the same job and I actually like the rugged, technical look.It will work with a regular flag pole, EMT, or a pole of your choice as long as you are aware of the min/max limitations. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Quality Product *by M***3 on October 29, 2023* I installed this on the ladder of my 2023 Reflection 311BHS and fly an extendable 25ft flagpole with 2 flags and a solar light on top. It holds the flag nicely and is easy to insert and remove the flagpole every time I use it.The product is made of very good quality. The metal used is thick and not made of cheap metals. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a flagpole holder for their RV.
