Unit is fused with a spare. It has an LED light indicator for On/Off. 120VAC in, 1000VA capable with one output. The unit has a wire wound primary and secondary with equal turns ratio. It also has a DC circuit breaker. If the unit is overloaded, remove the load, reset the breaker, wait for 5 mins then resume under normal load. What arrived was a very high quality isolation transformer, tech grade, without any ground on its plug. It's heavy, well constructed and I would highly recommend one to anyone looking for one. One thing worth noting is that if you order one and it arrives and smells absolutely horrible - like burnt tire - thats nothing abnormal for products like this and yes it stunk. It is isolated. It comes with a 3 to 2 pin plug converter that removes the chassis connection and then your load is isolated. **Q: Why did unit only come with a 2 prong cord ?** A: It will isolate you from outside noise and outside ground. Still be careful with earth grounded test equipment like oscilloscopes. **Q: It looks like a maximum of 8 amps. . . . Will a fuse blow if 8 amps is exceeded?** A: The AGC fuse is actually a10 Amp fuse as are the supplied 2 spares, not 8 Amps. The Chinese mislabeled the rear of the product stating it is an 8 Amp fuse. The Specification sheet shows the fuse to be an AGC10. This device's fuse should not blow as long as the RMS current is below 10 Ampers and is at room temperature. A fuses failure current lowers as the temperature goes up. If you run this at 117 VAC and draw 10 Amps that would be 1,170 Watts which is greater than the transformer is rated at. I would recommend that you try to not load it with much more than 800 watts just to be safe.
