Review: Exceptional pillow - First feel of this pillow is awesome, I haven't slept on it yet but I could feel the support and weight of it right out of the box. It definitely has an earthy smell to it, which I don’t mind at all, my wife personally doesn’t like it, but I think it smells like I am out camping or something. It holds shape and supports my neck really well, and without a doubt completely outperforms my $30 target pillow I've had for some time. I ordered more filling for it but I honestly think the amount they send in the pillow is already really nice. The cotton is soft and it has complete control over thinness or thickness depending on how much you remove or add, and it looks really good in my opinion. It doesn't get too hot and I see good versatility in it for any sleep position. If you’re looking for something new id save the money on those expensive fancy pillows, the most basic natural things God put on this world are what we need!
Review: Good quality pillow! - This is my first buckwheat pillow and after one night I noticed my neck pain was a little better. I've been struggling with tossing and turning all night because of my pain. Shoulder, neck, elbow and literally my entire upper bone structure. I started reading about this type of pillow and decided to hold off on getting a new mattress and trying this pillow first. The pillow cover is really nice, you can tell it is made well. The zipper tucks into a little pocket nicely to keep it from opening tol easily. I decided to dump out about a quarter of the buckwheat to make the pillow a little flatter. The first night was an adjustment but I fell asleep quickly and noticed when I woke up in the middle of the night my neck didn't hurt like it usually does. I think I woke up just because of the noise the pillow makes if you move. I didn't care about that and knew I would quickly get used to it. I slept the second night on the pillow again but did notice a little headache when I woke up the next morning. I decided to take out another quarter of the buckwheat to make it flatter to see if that made a difference. The next morning I felt pretty good, less pain. But I feel like once the buckwheat forms to you it feels pretty hard. But it's soooo supportive I needed to stick with it. I do also think it made me feel a little hot so I thought about what I could do to help those things and decided to buy a very flat (I think 1" thick) memory foam cooling pillow insert. It worked perfectly! Cool, comfy but still had the support. I did need to take out a good ount of the buckwheat to make up for that extra inch of foam. I do also use my silk pillowcase with it so that is cooling as well. It felt great last night and I am hoping this is the perfect combination! I don't notice much of a smell, nothing that would ever bother me. I did read that some people are bothered by it and I will say I am extremely sensitive to smells. It is heavy and I got the smaller size. I didn't like that it wasn't the size of a regular pillow but I did get used to that. I think I will be ok with the smaller size. If you have any type of cervical issues this could be the answer! I'll update soon how I am doing with it!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this buckwheat pillow good for neck pain and hot sleepers?**
A: Yes. 100% Tartary buckwheat hulls shift to cradle your cervical spine, easing neck tension. The hulls create natural air pockets for constant airflow — a true cooling pillow that keeps hot sleepers comfortable all night.

**Q: I'm a side sleeper — will this pillow be too firm or too high?**
A: No. The hidden zipper lets you add or remove buckwheat hulls to adjust loft: firmer for side sleepers, softer for stomach sleepers, medium for back sleepers. All kinds of sizes fills the shoulder gap perfectly.

**Q: Is this pillow truly organic? Does it smell or rustle?**
A: Yes — 100% organic Tartary buckwheat hulls in a 100% organic cotton shell. A faint grain smell fades in days; the soft rustle is the sound of real buckwheat, not chemical foam.

**Q: How long does a buckwheat pillow last? Is it worth it?**
A: 5+ years with simple care — far longer than 1-2 year memory foam pillows. Hulls are screened to resist crumbling. Refill anytime. Backed by 2,535 verified reviews and a 4.5 rating.

**Q: Is this buckwheat pillow good for long-term use, or will it flatten like other buckwheat pillows?**
A: Yes, built for long-term use. Filled with 100% Tartary buckwheat hulls, not common sweet buckwheat, ours stay firm and resist crushing for 5+ years — sweet buckwheat hulls flatten fast and often need replacing within just a year.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a good head rest pillow on the couch
*by P***W on July 15, 2026*

I ordered the 11 x 16 pillow to use as a head rest on couch. It's a great pillow, and a good size to sit up above a lumbar support wedge. I like the buckwheat filling and the cotton cover, which you can take off and wash. The only issue for me is that it gets squished down too fast. So I'm trying to find out how to get some extra filling from the company, and sent them a message asking about that. It would be perfect if I can fill it out just a bit.
