## Questions & Answers

**Q: I know very little about hammer drills. How can I know if a clay spade will fit this drill?**
A: The Ironton hammer drill would not work with the clay spade drill bits.

**Q: Is this compatible with SDS-plus hammer drill bits?**
A: SDS is a totally different shank type. This drill takes hammer drill bits, which have a hex shank. Bits with a round shank will just spin in the chuck.

**Q: The $25 price attracts and frightens at the same time. Do you think I could use it for busting up heavy clay soil?**
A: I still have not received my order. Someone at some other address , that is not mine, may have my order. I have requested at the least 3 times for help but it is on deaf ears. Can anyone help?

**Q: I the handle removable?**
A: Yes, typical twist turn handle. Drill is pretty weak for concrete.

How can you possibly complain given the price?

Ok let's be real if you bought this or are looking at it you probably are doing what I did, which is you need it for a single job maybe a dozen holes in your basement or similar. It's so worth the tiny amount of $ for that. The bits I bought cost more. So now I've got a cheap electric drill for a back up. Worked great. Can't believe how cheap. Will it last a decade? Of course not. Who cares it was less then $20 and worth it for the 30 minutes I needed it.

    Not enough power for concrete!

*by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2018*

This would be a worthwhile inexpensive drill for light masonry work or working with wood. Unfortunately, I needed to drill into concrete steps to attach handrails and it just wasn’t up to the task. It’s just not powerful enough to go through old concrete. I spent hours trying to drill four holes and managed to get only half way deep enough to set the anchors for each. I borrowed a friends heavier duty DeWalt and finished the remaining 16 holes and finish the 4 I had started in about an hour and a half. I burned up five drill bits using this drill but only one with the DeWalt.

    Better than a headache

*by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2019*

I give it 5 because you can't beat the price. I just needed to drill into brick to install about 30 tapcon screws and it did great. Yeah it's cheap and plasticky and probably won't last under heavy construction usage.I have other brand name drills but they don't hammer and for 15 bucks you can't buy enough tylenol to counter the headaches you have using a normal drill.
