The Umami Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer comes with Zojirushi's Umami setting that soaks and steams the rice longer for enhanced flavor. It also has a Slow Cook function that allows the rice cooker to work like a slow cooker. New and convenient Jasmine rice, quick Jasmine rice, and congee menu settings have been added. The non-stick coated inner cooking pan and the detachable and washable inner lid are both easy-to-clean. Power cord is detachable. This is my second cooker from this brand. Our older one was a simpler model, we had it for years and put it to hard work weekly. We broke it in a move and I decided to upgrade to this model with more rice options and nicer features. Makes incredible rice. We originally had an aroma brand rice cooker that was gifted to us, but after having lived in Japan, we knew we wanted a rice cooker that made the same level of quality. It has been so easy to use and clean, and we really love the timer function as we often have some rice with breakfast- we can prepare it before bed and have perfect, fresh rice in the busiest of mornings. It is about the same size as the aroma 10 cup cooker, but I find it's definitely worth the upgrade for the quality you receive. It also looks much nicer than the aroma cooker, so we don't mind it staying out on the counter next to the mixer.
