I soaked it in bicarbonate + water, oxy powder + warm water, both a few days each, and it improved it veeeery slightly. But I really needed a water bottle so just decided to use it. To my surprise, I kind of got used to it. For somebody as finicky as me especially when it comes to taste and smell, it's unusual to "get used to" something like this, but it happened. And I'm happy. I like everything else about it - the ease of washing, the design, the ease of flipping the cap open, the fact that it doesn't spill even if the cap is open, the colour, the size. Make sure to leave the cap open after washing so the inside can dry out too. I used to own a Bobble bottle, the original (I believe) of the built-in filter water bottle, which I bought in the early 2010s.
