## Description

From the manufacturer Built-In Access Point Mode RE550 is more than a wireless range extender. Simply plug an Ethernet cable into its Ethernet port and easily turn your wired internet connection into a 3×3 MIMO dual band wireless access point. Secure One-Touch Connection for Easy Setup Step 1: Simply press the WPS button on your router and, within 2 minutes, the WPS button on RE550 will connect to the network. Step 2: Once connected, place RE550 at the best location—without reconfiguration. Why is my internet speed much slower when connected through the range extender? Range extenders wirelessly repeat your router’s signal and should be placed about halfway from it. They operate in half-duplex mode, meaning slower speeds since they can't send and receive data at the same time, unlike wired connections. They operate in half-duplex mode, meaning slower speeds since they can't send and receive data at the same time, unlike wired connections. My extender connection keeps dropping or is unstable. What can I do? Unstable connections may occur due to distance, thick walls, interference (e.g. microwaves, metal, cordless phones), or outdated firmware. Move the extender closer, avoid interference, and update firmware via Tether app or web interface. My extender connection keeps dropping or is unstable. What can I do? You can connect multiple extenders, but we recommend a max of two and direct connections to the router (no daisy-chaining). Use different Wi-Fi channels to reduce interference. For better coverage, consider a Deco Mesh system with seamless roaming. Can I install multiple extenders in a large home? Some Vodafone/SKY routers send special WPS signals, making the extender create a long random password. Review: Easy to set up and very stable - I have used a fair few signal repeaters over the years and also have used old routers as repeaters. Recently I was lucky enough to get fibre to the premises broadband from a small supplier. This in theory gives be 300MBS upload and download. However it soon became apparent that the router supplied had pretty poor wi-fi capabilities and the signal was rather weak in the lounge. I decided to try one of these range extenders, It suits my purpose perfectly. Very easy to set up and I cant see anyone having a problem. WPS pairing worked but I then changed the SSID to match the rest of the network which worked well as roaming devices tend to pair to the strongest signal. The advice with this extender was to place it halfway between the router and the problem area. This is logical enough but I was able to place the device behind the TV in the lounge (blue light on the device shows this placement is fine) which meant I could use the ethernet socket for my PVR. This all works perfectly. Unlike previous extenders I have used this one is very stable and I have not had to reboot the device yet. Its important to realise that because of the way repeaters work you will not get the same speed as you would next to the router. There are endless clear explanations for this on the internet but in simple terms the repeater has to collect the signal and then pass it on so you might in theory half the bandwidth. So if your actual internet speed from the provider is slow this may not be the solution you are hoping for. My upload/download (just checked) is about 140 MB from the 300. What you will get though if the device is placed correctly is a very strong signal strength, exactly what wifi dongles such as the firestick require. Based on my experience of ease of setup, usefulness and importantly stability its five stars all the way from me.
Review: Pleased with the performance - Very pleased with this extender. It replaced an older version which was struggling after upgrading to full fibre broadband. Coverage is much improved as is speed. Very easy to setup and the app is available to monitor performance and connectivity. So far it has proven to be totally reliable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better then expected
*by S***A on 25 July 2026*

This extender with a Wi-Fi 7 router Archer BE3600 router works great however some the point i wants to highlight -MLO network won't be extended to RE225BE as it's a firmware limitation, and there is no update from TPlink support -Normal Easy mesh will be extended without any issues -When updating firmware and rebooting routers, the extender may not come back seamlessly, so you have to take it to the room where the main router is configured and pair it again -Signal strength is good, and I have a house with thick walls and 2 floors, and I can now see a decent signal -Setup is easy and smooth but can be manage easily by app from home or outside I replaced my home Brysk internet router with this one and so far so good
