After the innovative use of mobile artillery by the German army at the beginning of the conflict, it was generally accepted that artillery guns must be as mobile as tank battalions. The Allies initially assembled their first self-propelled artillery units on half-track vehicles, but the most effective solution was evident with the introduction of the M7 priest. Using the hull of the medium tank M3 Lee, the M7 was armed with a 105 mm howitzer M2A1. It was first used in 1942 by British troops who gave it the nickname "Priest" as the machine gun was in front of the vehicle resembling a pulpit of the church. Robust and reliable, it had ample ammunition and provided an effective indirect support fire. It was used in the course of the war by both the American Army and the US Marines on all fronts. Length of model: 17.2 cm Safety Warning Safety instructions: not suitable for children under 14 years ## Features - This item is NOT a toy and is intended for modelling use ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08WJ95YBM | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Art Craft Kit Type | Model Building Kit | | Best Sellers Rank | 45,411 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) 10 in Tank Model Building Kits | | Brand Name | Italeri | | Colour | Navy Green | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (137) | | Included Components | Plastic model kit, assembly instructions, decals for 4 versions, color instructions sheet, new gluable rubber tracks, and 1 figure | | Item Dimensions | 6 x 34.5 x 24 centimetres | | Item Type Name | Italeri 1:35 US M-7 Priest Howitzer Self-Prop, Model Building, Kit, Stand Model Building, Crafts, Hobby, Gluing, Plastic Kit | | Item Weight | 7.1 Ounces | | Manufacturer | Italeri | | Manufacturer Part Number | HC-6580 | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Name | 'US M-7 Priest Howitzer Selbststütze' | | Model Number | 6580S | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Paint Type | Acrylic | | Product Style | Traditional | | Product Warranty | statutory | | Scale | 1:35 | | Seasons | All Seasons | | Set Name | US M-7 Priest Howitzer Self-Propelled Gun | | Size | zzzz-s | | Special Features | Detailed plastic model for freestanding construction | | Subject Character | M-7 Priest Howitzer Tank | | Theme | Military | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Italeri - **Colour:** Navy Green - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 6 x 34.5 x 24 centimetres - **Theme:** Military ## Images ![Italeri 6580 British M7 Priest (1:35 Scale) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/616MTdDSk1L.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Italeri 6580S 1:35 US M-7 Priest Howitzer Self-Prop, Construction, Standing Model Making, Crafts, Hobby, Gluing, Plastic Kit, Navy Green - Academy M-18 Hellcat U.S Army 1/35 Plastic Model Kit Europe M 18 Super Hellcat By Academy - Tamiya 35313 1/35 US Light Tank M5A1 Plastic Model Kit --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/291229199-italeri-6580-british-m7-priest-1-35-scale](https://www.desertcart.us/products/291229199-italeri-6580-british-m7-priest-1-35-scale) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
