Will an old packet still work?** A: Hi Mark, as long as it's been in an airtight container. Thea'rs no mention of shelf life in the storage chapter in the supplied paperwork. I couldn't find A date code, or date of manufacture anywhere. You can tell if it's been contaminated buy the condition of it. It should pour freely from it's container (no clumping) and looks like saw dust (medium small coarseness) and consistency of cat litter or oil dry. It's always hard to gauge if an ant bait product is working, you have to wait quite a while to see if ants disappear from view and even then, they still might be in the walls, foundation, etc. So, I will give this a few weeks, and if I don't see any super tiny, minuscule ants walking across my computer screen, I will consider the problem solved. By the way, the product is simple to use, has a very fine granular size, and has no odor which is a plus.
