We used rechargeable batteries and took a spare set trick or treating, just in case the batteries ran low, I think using regular batteries probably would have worked better than rechargeable. The costume was super easy to set up and held up most of the night without changing the batteries. My son did say it was hard to keep up with his friends while trick or treating and he did get a little hot while walking around the neighborhood. Overall the costume was a hit and super cute with our Jurassic Park theme. Highly recommend.
