Yes, it's a bit heavy, but that's because of the 20GA steel they use to make it. The drawer movement is super smooth (ball bearing slides) and there's a detent just before they close all the way (where you can lock the clasp the drawers with the closing of the lid). There's a lock that can be set to secure your tools. I have no need for such security, but leaving the lock code at "0000" allows me to use it as another latch to secure the lid and drawers.
