It's definitely one that I will display on ... *by S***A on September 28, 2016* I have an older version of a regular pressure cooker. My family has used them and has had them for years. My mother's was very old and had no safety features. The one that I have does have a locking lid but you still need to be extremely careful with it. So purchasing this I had a lot of hopes and expectations. The appliance is beautiful. It's definitely one that I will display on my counter. I love the digital display. I love that it has a timer so there is no guessing. I'm Polish and love to make my stuffed cabbage in my pressure cooker. So of course that was the first thing I made. I feel like the flavor was stronger in this cooker. I know I will make some of my favorite stews and soups in it.I recommend that anyone who purchases this cooker and have no experience with pressure cookers to read all the instructions and warnings. This is definitely a safe product but can still cause damage if misused. ### ⭐ NO LOW PRESSURE?? No saute. Very poor instruction manual. Very disappointing *by J***G on November 19, 2016* I ordered two of these, one for myself and one for a friend for Christmas. When they arrived, I noted that the instruction manual (like many PCs) is very poorly written, not only in poor broken English, but practically nonexistent instructions. I am an experienced PC user but only with stovetop models. I noted that in the manual, there appeared to be a setting for "fry", which I take to mean "saute" but there was no setting for this on the front of the PC. It also had instructions never to fill it beyond 3/4, which is a bit no no for PCs. So I contacted the company for clarification. Here is what I was told:1. THERE IS NO LOW PRESSURE SETTING ON THIS PC! Okay, that is enough right there for me to send it back. But it gets worse...2. I was told to "disregard the mention of 'fry' in their instruction model, that is for an older model". So, let me get this straight....your NEW model got rid of the saute/fry function? Again, going back.3. Don't pay attention to the 3/4 instructions, use the common recommendations of no more than 2/3 or 1/2 for things that swell. What if I had been a newbie to PCs??I took both of these units to UPS to return. I have a new one (Della 10-in-1 Multi-Function Electric Pressure Cooker Stainless Steel, 10-QT) and will come back to review that item when it arrives. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Pressure Cooker - Owner's Manual is Lacking *by J***Y on September 21, 2016* The media could not be loaded. I want to begin this review by saying that pressure cookers can be the most amazing tool in the entire kitchen, but they can also be the most dangerous. With that said, I am thrilled with this product, but not so much with the operation manual. In fact, my 4 star rating is all about the operation manual, rather than the product.The first thing I cooked in this pressure cooker was pork ribs. Normally I par-boil them and then place them in the oven at a low temperature for a long time. Instead of all that work, I simply coated them with a dry rub, tossed them in the pressure cooker with some BBQ sauce, sealed the lid, and pressed the nutritional cooking button until the light for "spareribs" lit up. It took a little less than 10 minutes to build pressure (I had it less than half full, so it should build quicker when cooking more food). Once the pressure was built up, the letter P appeared on the left display screen and the right display screen started to count down. Thirty minutes later an alert sounded and the pressure was ready to be released. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't expect the recipe to be affected much, so I opened the pressure valve and allowed the steam to release. By the time I had gathered the french fries and coleslaw to the dining table, the ribs were ready to be scooped out of the pressure cooker. These were, hands down, the best ribs I have ever cooked. It seems that I can't find the perfect balance between the parboil and the oven to get truly tender ribs. However, a half hour in the pressure cooker had my family asking when I was going to be making them again.So... Easy to use - 5 stars. Quality of cooking - 5 stars. Easy to clean - 5 stars. (Really... a non-stick interior bucket that I removed and soaked in the sink for 20 minutes and it washed right out.) Versatility - 5 stars. (It can be used as a rice cooker or slow cooker, too, and can even be set to keep food warm.) I also want to point out that there is nothing I want to cook that can't be handled with 8 quarts. Awesome size.Here's the place where you want to know why I'm giving the product 4 stars after all of that raving. It's because I want to make you aware that pressure cookers are serious business. Yes, an electric pressure cooker like this is a million times safer than a stovetop model. However, this is the one appliance that requires you to absolutely read every single word in the owners manual. All of those safety warnings are big time serious when you are using a pressure cooker. Unfortunately, I have found the manual to be lacking in the kind of detail that I want for a product of this magnitude. For example, when I pressed the button to start the cooking, the number 30 appeared on the right screen and nothing happened. We just sat there staring and waiting. The valve doesn't work the same as a stovetop. This appliance has it 100% under control for you and you are really wondering if it is doing what it's supposed to be doing. This might make you think it's not working and you may be tempted to try to open it up. That could be extremely dangerous. Finally, the P appeared on the left screen and the right screen started to countdown. That's when I knew we were good to go. Additionally, the manual doesn't give any information about releasing the pressure. You can do this manually through the valve. But you absolutely CANNOT open the pressure cooker until it has released. Therefore, please do a little research and learn the ins and outs of pressure cooking before you use any pressure cooker.I want to add that I have been in communication with the seller about my concerns with the owners manual. She has been working diligently to improve the details in the manual. I have received an email copy of the newest manual and it is much better than the original. If the manual improves to include some of the details I have pointed out, I will update my review to reflect this information as well as upgrade my star rating.I also want to let you know that I will make a video review of this product so that you can see it in action and get a really great look at all the settings and how it works. I have a meal planned for the pressure cooker on Saturday and I should be able to add a video to this review before the end of this month (Sept 2016).All opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.
